“IT was a historical moment for me in my music career to be able to represent my country in a stadium of 48 000 people, and live on TV - it was both a privilege and an honour,” says the talented Paarl singer Felicity Kiran.

Felicity, who was born and bred in Paarl, sang the New Zealand national anthem for the Castle Tri-Nations rugby game in PE which was broadcast live on Saturday.

“Since I was a young girl, I dedicated myself to achieving the highest standards in my music and this moment was an acknowledgement of my work.

“What could be better for a singer, than being able to do what I love most, and giving back to people by performing for them?

“I am inspired every day to be the best I can be.”

Felicity, who attended Klein Nedrburg Secondary Shool, is a seasoned performer who trained at the La Muzik School of Performing Arts after having performed in numerous choirs from the age of 12 and being asked to perform overseas as part of the Paarl Wellington Choir.

In 1998 she took part in the World Championships of the Performing Arts Competi-tion which she won.

In 1999, Felicity began her professional career and worked with some of South African theatres’ top theatre producers including Alistair Izobell, Mike McCullagh, Natalia de Rocha and Ivor Jones.

Felicity has starred in many musicals locally and in 2005 she was asked to produce her own show in Spain, which was so successful that she was asked to stay on and produce six more shows for various Spanish resorts.

In 2007, Felicity was asked to star in the Sun City Extravaganza, Let There Be Rock! which then toured to the Carousel Casino.

Felicity has also performed in many Barnyard shows like Viva Las Vegas, Diamonds and Dust and Rock on Beethoven and in 2008, toured to Holland, Amsterdam and Belgium with their production of Under African Skies. Felicity has also shared the Sun City Superbowl stage with Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child fame for the Positive Event that was televised.

As a solo artist, Felicity has performed for the top corporate companies such as Sanlam, recently performed for the Prince of Saudi Arabia, and is a highly sought- after corporate and theatre performer.

Felicity performed recently at the Kuier Pienk Plesier event at Grand West where she received a standing ovation. She recently opened her own company, Door 6 Entertainment (see www.door6.co.za).

Their launch and first theatre production have garnered rave reviews and played to sold out houses and standing ovations.

Singing songs of all genres, from Shirley Bassey, to Tina Turner and Beyonce, and including some South African classics, this singer is world class and sets the stage alight wherever she performs.
