Burn baby dies

THE two-month-old baby boy who was severely injured when his mother set herself and him alight, has died from his injuries.
Bulelo Khanyo (25) doused herself and her son, Khanyo, with paraffin before setting them alight in Mbekweni on 8 January.
Bulelo was admitted to Tygerberg Hospital with serious burn wounds, while Alona was admitted to the intensive care unit at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
Alona’s right hand had to be amputated due to the severity of his wounds, and he could only breathe with the help of a breathing apparatus.
Bulelo died a few weeks later and Alona eventually succumbed to his horrific injuries last week.
