Next stop Paarl Mall
2006-08-03
TO improve transport to the Paarl Mall, the management has requested that the traffic department increase the number of permits for taxis travelling to the Mall (Langeberg route) for the convenience of its customers and staff - and this request has been granted.
Paarl Mall returned the gesture and, on their side, spent R120 000 making the Mall more ‘taxi-friendly’ by incorporating a special taxi collection and drop-off zone, opposite the Food Court entrance.
Taxis can also stop between Paarl Mall and the Langeberg factory in Jones Street - which is very convenient for employees of both the factory and the Mall.
Although it is not an official taxi rank, it is a controlled environment and therefore quite safe for loading and off-loading passengers.
In response to some past complaints that public transport to Paarl Mall is too expensive, taxi owners say that if the demand increases, their prices could be adapted.
The Mall has extended trading hours, weekdays from 09:00 to 19:00 and Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 16:00.
