No fireworks

NO applications have been made to the Drakenstein Municipality for the discharging of fireworks for Guy Fawkes celebrations this weekend.
Any fireworks discharged would therefore be in contravention of the municipal regulations, and could lead to an arrest and a fine of up to R1000 or six months’ imprisonment.
Veterinary surgeons have warned pet owners to ensure that their animals have contact details on their collars, or micro-chips for tracing.
Each year with Guy Fawkes or New Year’s celebrations, dozens of dogs escape from homes or gardens and are either lost or run over.
