Teacher bust for drugs

Teacher bust for drugs

2006-11-02

A TEACHER from Ihlumelo Junior Secondary School was arrested last week for the possession of 2,5 kilograms of dagga on the school premises.

The police received anonymous information about Mthetho Mngena, a history teacher at the school, who was alleged to have been selling dagga on the school premises.

Members of the police swooped on the school and after searching a bag belonging to Mngena, they came across the dagga.

He has been charged with the possession of narcotics, and the police will be investigating a further charge of dealing in narcotics.

Three months ago, a 17-year-old relative of Mngena was arrested with a large amount of dagga in his possession.
