2006-11-09
A LUXURY vehicle has disappeared after being sent from Ceres to Paarl for repairs.
Ceres Toyota returned a Land Rover Freelander to a mechanic, Kurt McBride, in Paarl, who had previousy worked on a fault.
The champagne coloured Freelander was delivered to McBride on 12 October by Ceres Toyota.
A few days later when Ceres Toyota enquired about the repair, they were told by McBride that a man by the name of Isak Snyders, who had claimed to be an employee of Toyota and who even wore a Toyota name badge, had already collected the vehicle.
Ceres Toyota does not have an employee by that name, and neither does any other Toyota dealership.
A case of theft has been opened at the Paarl police station and anybody who can assist the police in their investigation can contact Insp Jean Henning at 807-4000.
