Death of Johann Pepler

THE close-knit community of Franschhoek was plunged into mourning this past week with the death of a well-known businessman.
Johann Pepler of Goederust died a week after he was involved in a motor-cycling accident near Ceres.
Pepler was a keen motor-cyclist and had been part of a rally to Middelpos when he lost control of his motorbike just outside of Ceres.
He sustained serious head injuries and passed away at the Paarl MediClinic.
Pepler had numerous business interests in the area, including Goederust Restaurant and Pepler alarms.
He is survived by his wife, Ansa, and three children, Pieter, Lizel and Elmien.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 10:00 in the Dutch Reformed Church in Franschhoek.
