Victim beaten

WHILE the victim of a brutal rape in Mbekweni on Sunday 15 July recuperated in hospital, Police were following all possible leads to trace the suspect.
The victim, a 19-year-old girl on her way home at 02:00 that morning, was grabbed from behind on a bridge in the Chris Hani township.
While her assailant covered her eyes, he dragged her under the bridge, smashed a brick into her face and repeatedly raped her.
The badly beaten girl, with bruises and abrasions covering her entire body, was admitted to hospital.
