New boss at restaurant

THE restaurant at the Onverwacht Wine Estate is now owned by Louis Verwey, a well-known celebrity chef from Cape Town and his partner, Terry Wild, a wine master.
Louis has held positions at private game reserves like Assegai Lodge in the Eastern Cape, Clara Anna Fontein Game Reserve in Cape Town and recently as executive chef for Durbanville Conference Centre.
He toured Italy, Poland, France and Germany to enhance his culinary repertoire.
The décor at Chef Lu’s @ Onverwacht (the new name as from 1 September) will be homely, with a touch of funky styling. The bar area will be changed to a cigar lounge type bar.
Food is contemporary classic with a twist - think slow food, comfort food, fresh organic fun!
