Spirits high at horse festival
2007-10-25
SPIRITS were high at the Horse and Wine Festival at Nelson’s Creek in Windmeul at the weekend - not only with high-spirited horses, but also with visitors enjoy-ing the fruit of the farm.
With the tempe-rature soaring close to 40 degrees on Saturday, adults took to the dappled shade on the lawns, children found the pool, and the hor-ses - well, they simply loved the attention.
Visitors
With more than 3000 visitors through the gate, the organisers would have loved to have accommodated three times that.
They might just do that next year.
Everyone with the remotest interest in horses or spending an afternoon on a wine estate, should make a bee-line to the next festival.
And of course, there is no World Cup rugby next year, so an even greater number of people is expected.
